Natalie Battles Teacher/Actress
“One of my biggest blessings in life is coming into this world with a big sister like Cherlnell Lane. Cherlnell Lane is the type of woman who will always have your back, support, love and help you. She is one of the most intelligent, kind and talented women I know. I can honestly say that I do not know if I would be where I am today without her love, support, and consideration. Cherlnell continues to support me in my business endeavors and in my personal life. As an actress, poet, writer, radio host, model and teacher I can honestly say that Cherlnell Lane has influenced the things that I do in all of the different fields that I am in. I see nothing but amazing and new heights for Cherlnell Lane and all that she does because she is that motivated, driven, talented and remarkable, not to mention she is one of the strongest people I know.”

"I met Cherlnell a few years ago via social media, however, I got a chance to experience her on a more intimate basis when she participated in a writing project that I organized in 2015. Cherlnell has to be the most refreshing person that I have met in a long while. She is a visionary. She drapes words on paper like they’re the finest of fabric. Her ability to take constructive criticism and instruction humbly had me in awe. I was truly blessed to make her acquaintance and I am even more blessed that she has appointed me as a mentor in her life. Her beauty radiates. I expect great things! "
Michele Tillett Poet
"The strongest and most memorable challenge in my life was transitioning from a timid and quiet girl into the outspoken women I am today. Basically, I was inspired by Cherlnell Battles before she became Cherlnell Lane. Cherlnell inspired me to find my voice through writing. At the age of 14, I decided to invade my mind and allow those feelings to just come out on paper. Writing and reciting poetry transformed me in the inside and helped conquer my fears. God gives us all certain talents and abilities to use. God also places certain people in our lives to help push those abilities out. Cherlnell was that person in my life to do just that. In my eyes, she is very gifted, intelligent, punctual and articulate. She has this great ability to create messages through poetry. I always sense a spiritual maturity within her soul and mind. The way she exercises her creativity is unlike any other. Even in the midst of her own trials she remains courageous. Soooo rather you recognize her as Cookie Battles, C.J Lane, or Cherlnell Lane. Cherlnell, in general, will always be that queen who writes from the heart and with purpose. I thank her for being one of those influential people God blessed me with."

"I had the pleasure of having Cherlnell as one of my brand ambassadors for KolourConscious. Cherlnell is one of the most dedicated and positive people I have had to opportunity to come across. She was extremely active with social media engagements and participated fully in all activities that were required of the ambassadors. Cherlnell was such a joy to work with from her writing style, her creative mind, and joyful spirit. We look forward to seeing more from her!"
Abbey Thomas WTET Student
"Cherlnell, Cookie, CJ Lane's (or whatever I'm calling her today) words, rather spoken or written have a way of inspiring me to appreciate life just a little more. That piece about the black man or her man made me wish I could express myself the same way. I attended her six-week class, Writing Through Everyday Trauma, this class encouraged me to explore my past and dig deeper to understand the pain that surfaced every now and then. I held a youth summit, Cherlnell came and taught the kids about writing but the adults were encouraged to write and wanted more. The best thing about Cherlnell Lane, however, is her smile that lights up a room wherever she goes."
